Do you offer stretched canvas?
Our express website does not. Our full service website www.digitalphotosoncanvas.com does. We have streamlined this website to keep costs low and allow us to ship out the canvas as quickly as possible.
What type of payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa and Mastercard.
Do you except orders from outside of the United States?
No, not at this time.
What kind of shipping options do you offer?
We offer two options. Standard shipping for $5. Rush service for $20. Keep in mind the printing and spraying usually takes two to three days.
What colorspace are you printing in?
We print in sRGB colorspace. Please do not send us files in CMYK colorspace.
What types of files do you except?
We accept .jpg and .tif files.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer a 100% refund for any defects in materials. This said it should be said that your images will be printed on canvas which inherently has texture and occasionally has small irregularities that could be visible under close inspection. Our express site has some limitations in regards to refunds compared to our very open policy on our DigitalPhotosonCanvas.com site. Refer to our full return policy at Our Guarantee. If you have any questions please email us at info@digitalphotosoncanvas.com.
Do you offer restoration, painterly effect, collage, or gel brushstrokes?
Not on our express website. Go to www.digitalphotosoncanvas.com for any of these options. We do apply a clear protective varnish to the canvas for free.
Do you apply any type of varnish to the canvas?
Yes, we apply a clear protective varnish to all orders. This helps reduce the harmful effects of uv rays that can cause the canvas to fade. If you do not want the free protective varnish please just uncheck the box the says free protective varnish. Usually the only people that request not to have the protective varnish are artists that want to paint over the printed image.
What is the longevity of the canvas photograph?
The canvas photograph with the protective varnish spray is rated to last over 100 years. That is longer than a traditional color photograph.
What types of printers do you use to print the canvas?
We print all of our canvas prints with Epson printers and only use ultrachrome pigmented inks for the longest lasting images.
Do you offer mounting or framing options?
On this express website we do not but visit www.digitalphotosoncanvas.com to order a canvas either mounted to masonite or framed with a gold, black or walnut frame.
What if I want a custom size print?
We will make any custom size print that you would like. In the order process order the size that your image would fit into then check the box that says "Do Not Crop". Your image will be printed full frame but will in most cases be significantly smaller than the size you ordered. Please refer to a article on proportions written in March on our Blog.
How come you are the lowest price of custom canvas printing I have found?
Volume, plain and simple. We are able to keep our prices low by the shear volume of printing on canvas that we do. We also have a website that sells stretched canvas and we are also a wholesale printer of art reproductions on canvas. We DO NOT lower our quality standards to sell our canvas at a low price. We offer the best quality possible at a great price.
What is the best possible way to contact you?
The best and fastest way is by email -info@digitalphotosoncanvas.com
You can also call us at (920) 386-8866.
Can I scan a photo that a professional photographer took and have you print that on canvas?
If the professional photographer did not give you the right to his images it is illegal for you to scan them and illegal for me to print them. Many photographers do not offer their photos printed on canvas and usually are very willing to sign over the rights of a image to be printed on canvas. If the photographer will not sign over the rights of the image do not send us the image we can only print images that you have the rights to.
Do you crop an image to fit the proportion I ordered?
Yes, we crop the image unless specified not to. This is a very important thing to think about when ordering. Most consumer cameras take a proportion closer to a 4x6 and order an 8x10 print. A 4x6 print is proportional to a 8x12 though and would then be cropped to a 8x10 proportion causing you to lose 2 inches on the length. If you do not want it cropped uncheck the box on the place order page.
Do you leave any canvas around the image for stretching?
Yes, we leave at least 2.5 inches around the image to allow the canvas to be stretched over stretcher bars.
Where can I find someone to stretch my canvas?
Your local frame shop should have no problem stretching your canvas. It is best to look for a custom frame shop that is a member of the PPFA (Professional Picture Framers Association) You should be able to go to www.ppfa.com to find a framer close to you.
Do you print from traditional photographic prints?
Yes we can. First we scan the image then we would print it. I recommend having your local independent photo lab or Kinko’s may also be able to scan your print for you. Have them scan the image at 300 dpi at the final output size of your canvas print. For example if you want a 16”x20” canvas have them scan your smaller image at 16”x20” at 300dpi.
Will a picture from my cell phone make a good 20”x24” canvas print?
No, Camera phones and images from the web are generally too small to make good enlargements. Take photos with the largest file setting on your camera. A 6 megapixel camera will generally take a photograph that would make a nice 20”x24”.
